Village at Manalapan Solar: Manalapan, NJ

In a strategic alliance with NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, a 3.6 megawatt solar energy installation is being constructed at the Spano organization's Village At Manalapan site. Once completed, the facility will be among the largest ground-mounted, grid-interconnected solar systems in New Jersey. The project will utilize excess land from Spano Partners' planned and approved Village At Manalapan 500,000 sq. ft. shopping center. Covering 13 acres, The Village at Manalapan solar system will produce enough energy to power roughly 450 houses for a year. The power generated by the system will be sold into the regional electrical grid, contributing toward our national and state goals of producing clean, efficient, renewable energy. The project is estimated to cost $18 million.

Spano Partners used its broad expertise in navigating both the electrical industry's regulatory path as well the local, county, and state land use approval processes to partner with NJRCEV in taking this underutilized land and making it an economically and environmentally productive site.
